Upper Cross and Lower Cross Syndrome

Upper Cross Syndrome involves the muscles of the thorax; the anterior muscles become hypertonic with a resulting lengthening of the posterior muscles, showing a pronounced forward stooping of the chest and shoulders with hump back. Even in a person with naturally poor posture, this will be evident.

Lower Cross Syndrome results in the posterior muscles of the lumbar, pelvis and upper leg becoming hypertonic (shortening) with the anterior muscles lengthening, resulting in abdominal pain and distended stomach. Both syndromes are painful and debilitating for the client. In this workshop you will learn to recognise and treat these conditions.

If you want to treat real people with real conditions, this is the information you need.
There are enough therapists who feel they are meant to treat the A-letes. Those guys don't have real-life conditions. Your average mum and dad, office worker - typist and hairdressers - or the one doing repetitive movements all day is the client that brings real issues to your table.

Often the most common issues? Upper cross syndrome followed very closely by lower cross syndrome.
