You will learn how to assess, treat and rehabilitate a wide range of injuries. This course will open a wide range of possibilities for you. As with many Australian and Asian SIBT students you will be surprised at your achievements and self development during your training with us.
What is Remedial Massage Remedial Massage seeks to remedy and bring about change in a muscle. By way of muscle and postural assessment Remedial Massage treats the dysfunction causing the pain and aims to improve range of movement. Soft tissue injuries, while widely diagnosed as strains, sprains, or inflammation, receive minimal attention in the education of most physicians. Soft tissue injury falls between the cracks of the medical specialists. Unfortunately, for the client, medical treatment may mask pain while leaving soft tissue restrictions which can continue to cause dysfunction, if not pain. Too often the medical community falls into the trap of treating the pain and not treating the dysfunction. When both pain and dysfunction are treated simultaneously, the recurrence of problems is less likely.
Keeping this in mind you may well be the first health professional to actually touch and palpate a client's soft tissue injury or even check their range of movement. So it becomes vitally important to assess your client.
