| Course Description | To enhance your understanding of injuries and their treatment we highly recommend the Injury Techniques course to practitioners, sports trainers, coaches and athletes. Building on skills developed in Remedial Massage the course involves examination and assessment of injuries of the musculo-skeletal system, such as the shoulder, knee, hip, ankle, elbow and wrist as well as many other common injuries. You will learn principles of injury management such as prevention, injury treatment, care, rehabilitation and prevention of recurrence of injury. Injury treatment includes principles to minimise initial damage, reduce pain and inflammation, promote healing, maintain flexibility, strength and overall fitness during the healing phase. You will gain considerable confidence in testing muscle strength and flexibility during the course. You will learn how to progress with rehabilitation by assessing the stages of healing and to design an effective exercise program. After completion of this training you will have gained a much greater understanding of treatments and rehabilitation processes to integrate into your therapy, training or coaching style. |
