MAGGIE SANDS
Managing Director/School Principal - School of Integrated Body Therapy

Maggie has had extensive experience in the natural medicine profession, her original training was in 1975. Her journey into massage commenced in 1980 with a Remedial Massage Course, then over the next decade she qualified in Naturopathy/Herbal Medicine and a wide variety of bodywork modalities. Maggie’s journey then led her to a deeper focus on the psyche of the body and she completed an intense Somatic Psychotherapy training during the early ‘90s with ASPA (Australian Somatic Psychotherapists Association). Maggie has held an Executive Director position of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS) between 1988 and 2012 where she has been honoured with Life Membership of the Society. She was elected to the position of Vice President on two separate occasions which collectively spanned 15 plus years and during this time continuously served on several major committees that assisted to guide the natural medicine industry in Australia.
Her background in the fitness industry spans 2 decades. Maggie operated 2 highly successful aerobic studios which employed 10 aerobic instructors. During this time she presented over 5000 fitness, relaxation and stretching classes. Maggie was a founding member of the NSW Fitness Centres Association (FCA), a Director of the Fitness Industry Association (FIA) for 7 years and a national aerobic competition judge for 3 consecutive years. Maggie has also trained practitioners overseas more recently in stretching and resistance training.
She has successfully orchestrated over 35 training programs internationally to Vietnam, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Singapore and is currently liaising with other countries who are interested in developing Remedial Massage skills to the standard taught in Australia by SIBT. Maggie, with the assistance of the Australian Trade Commission, has achieved considerable success internationally.
For 5 years Maggie also led groups of practitioners to the East Kimberley area of North West Australia to visit sacred sites and spent time with traditional indigenous land owners. Her long standing passion is to assist others fulfil their personal dreams and grow through bodywork and natural medicine education. Maggie still travels extensively and is a gifted public speaker.

lynne davidson

LYNNE DAVIDSON (nee Partridge)
Senior Teacher, National and International Experience

Lynne is a practicing Remedial Therapist & continues to delight in her teaching role as a trainer for the School of Integrated Body Therapy. She is the Founder of the Rothbury Natural Therapies Centre in the Hunter Valley where she & other bodyworkers offer a variety of healing modalities. Lynne has trained extensively in soft tissue techniques & many styles of energy work including Reiki, Sekhem & Pranic Healing. Lynne loves to interact with her students & the sharing of her knowledge, she believes that sometimes the simplest touch given with the right intention, works miracles. In her practice she integrates many styles of hands-on energetic healing & deeply follows the philosophy of working with intent, presence & the giving of loving kindness.

CHRIS BEAZLEY
Senior Teacher, National and International Experience, Student Clinic Supervisor

Chris commenced his Massage training with the School in 1994 and has massage qualifications in Therapeutic, Remedial, Sports Therapies, Integration Therapy, Reflexology, Myofascial Release & Trigger Point Therapy. Chris has been a teacher at the School since 1997 and currently teaches Certificate IV in Massage and Sports courses. Chris has a special interest in assisting course participants to grow and gain a deeper understanding of “massage as a profound healing modality”.  In past careers Chris has had a wide variety of professional experiences all of which led him to embark on his journey as a Massage Practitioner.  Chris has international experience teaching massage in Hanoi, Vietnam.

TERRY REILLY
Senior Teacher, National and International Experience

Terry has been involved in health and fitness education for over 3 decades. He qualified as a Remedial Massage Practitioner in 1998. His qualifications include Therapeutic, Remedial, Sports Therapies, Reflexology, Shiatsu, Myofascial Release and Trigger Point. He has taught a variety of massage therapies including pre- and post graduate studies and has had extensive international teaching experience. He has represented SIBT numerous times at various international events sponsored by the Australian Trade Commission. Terry has a Massage Therapy clinic at Tumbi Umbi, NSW.

terri bliss

TERRI BLESS
Senior Teacher, National and International Experience

Terri has had an interest in massage since suffering with pneumonia as a child that was largely treated with massage techniques. She has a background in the stockbroking and sales industries. After having her children she wanted a career that allowed her flexibility to be a mum and provide her with some part-time income. Since commencing her training with SIBT in 1996 Terri has completed a Diploma in Remedial Massage, Diploma in Sports Therapies including Sports Massage, Diploma in Sands Integration Therapy, Myofascial Release Diploma, Remedial Therapies Diploma, Trigger Point Certificate, Working with Lymphatics Certificate, Hot Stone Therapy Certificate and has attended numerous workshops. Terri has been a student clinic supervisor for 9 years and a teacher for 5 years and is currently teaching Certificate IV in Massage, The Trigger Point Elective and Myofascial Release Diploma. She also facilitates the Practitioner Development Seminars and has teaching experience in Singapore. She also has her own successful practise in Cooranbong.

LAURIE FAWKNER
Senior Teacher, Student Clinic Supervisor, National and International Experience

Laurie has a strong interest in Sports Massage having qualified as a Massage Practitioner in 1989. He has also studied Chinese Massage, Sports Medicine and many other specialty subjects. Laurie was appointed Deputy Director of Massage Services for S.O.C.O.G. (2000 Australian Olympic Games) and has been the massage therapist for a wide variety of professional athletes and well-known sporting teams.

GEOFF TALBOT
Teacher, Student Clinic Supervisor, Hot Stone

Geoff began his massage journey with SIBT in 2001 and has qualifications in Therapeutic, Remedial, Trigger Point, Myofascial Release, Sports Injuries and Hot Stone Massage. Geoff has worked as part of the Lake Spa Team of practitioners and has been a Student Clinic Supervisor for several years.

PATRICIA LOVELL
Senior Teacher, Cranio Sacral Therapy

Patricia is an exceptional Remedial Massage Practitioner and was one of the original students to partake in the School’s first training in Newcastle.  Patricia, through her enthusiasm, commenced teaching for the School in 1991 and assisted in the development of the Trigger Point and Myofascial Release Therapy Courses.  She also greatly assisted SIBT during the update of the Therapeutic and Remedial Massage programs.  Patricia runs a well established practice “Toronto Wellbeing Clinic”.  Her journey has included a wide variety of learning including advanced bodywork, Voice Dialogue and Counselling.  From this vast experience Patricia has developed her own individual energetic healing techniques.  Patricia’s passion lies in Cranio Sacral Therapy having experienced this system of healing and treatment approach for over 16 years.  Patricia enjoys sharing this passion with students encouraging them to listen and follow the client’s internal body intelligence. 

NOLA WARD
Teacher, Student Clinic Supervisor

Nola has a successful massage practice within the Lake Spa Wellness Centre, NSW. Nola's training in bodywork has been vast and includes Remedial Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Neurolymphatic Massage, Rejuvenation/Detox Massage, Hawaiian Fusion/Hot Stone Massage, Myofascial Release, Ear Candling, Oncology Massage and Pregnancy Massage. Nola has extensive personal experience as she has had 5 children of her own. This has given her a depth of understanding that can only be experienced personally during the "pregnancy experience". Nola massages many pregnant women at her practice during their pregnancy. This assists them in a variety of ways allowing them not only to relax but also feel relief from muscular tension often experienced by women during pregnancy. Nola teaches Pregnancy Massage, Oncology Massage, Practitioner Development Seminar, and is also a Student Clinic Supervisor.

ROB MILTON
Student Clinic Supervisor

Rob began his training with SIBT in 2003 and has gained various bodywork qualifications in Therapeutic, Remedial, Trigger Point, Pregnancy Massage, Oncology Massage, Ear Candling, Myofascial Release, Lymphatic Massage and Hot Stone Therapy. Rob is a Clinic Supervisor at our Warners Bay Centre and also is a Massage Practitioner for LakeSpa Wellness Centre.

GRAHAME LOTT
Student Clinic Supervisor

Grahame began his training in massage in 2004 and has gained qualifications in Therapeutic, Remedial, Trigger Point, Pregnancy, Ear Candling and Myofascial Release. Grahame was a class assistant for a number of years and has been a student clinic supervisor since 2007.

ROCHELLE JILLETT
Student Clinic Supervisor

Rochelle has always enjoyed the benefits of healthy living and exercise and has been involved in representative athletics and soccer. Her passion is for healthy living and she has obtained a Bachelor Degree in Nutrition from Newcastle University 2008. Following a number of years working within the Health industry, Rochelle decided to diversify her experience and follow an interest in Massage, completing a Diploma of Remedial Massage in 2011. Her philosophy is to provide professional service to clients, utilising intuitive therapy to treat the whole of the body. Rochelle is a Clinic Supervisor and also is a Massage Practitioner for LakeSpa Wellness Centre.
KEITH LOWE
Hawaiian Fusion/Hot Stone/Lomi Lomi

Keith has had extensive training in a wide variety of massage and bodywork modalities and began his journey during the mid 1990’s. He now specialises in Spa Therapies and is the Head Therapist at a well-known exclusive spa resort in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales. Keith has a passion for his practice of massage and teaching.

WAYNE MACQUARIE
Emergency First Response - First Aid Course Facilitator, National and International Experience

Wayne has been a Massage Practitioner since 1990 and is the Owner of a Remedial Massage Clinic. Wayne has also been a First Aid Instructor since 1997.

Wayne is the Instructor of the "Emergency First Response" First Aid training courses run at the School. He combines his skills and knowledge to provide the best possible first aid training. He also teaches First Aid internationally to the School's overseas students.
